JEE Main 2027 Session 1 Dates: What to Do in the Weeks Left
NTA's calendar puts JEE Main 2027 Session 1 in the last week of January. What that leaves for Class 12 students, how to split the time with boards, and what to keep ready for registration.
The National Testing Agency's examination calendar, published on 16 September 2026, lists JEE Main 2027 Session 1 on 22–24 and 28–30 January 2027, with 31 January kept as a buffer day. NTA marks these dates as tentative, and the information bulletin with the registration window was not out as of 9 October 2026. Even so, the calendar is enough to plan by.
How much time is left
From mid-October to the last week of January is about fifteen weeks. For a Class 12 student that time also has to carry school work, practicals and board preparation, so the real number of full study weeks is closer to ten or eleven. That is enough to finish well — if the weeks are planned now rather than in December.
A sensible split of the fifteen weeks
- Now to mid-November: finish the Class 12 chapters still pending, and revise the Class 11 topics that keep costing marks in tests.
- Mid-November to December: one full-length timed paper a week, analysed properly, with chapter revision chosen from the mistakes — not from the textbook order.
- January: two papers a week in the exam's own time slot, light revision, and a fixed sleep routine. No new topics in the last ten days.

Keep these ready before registration opens
When the bulletin is published, it lists the exact documents and photo specifications. It is worth having the usual ones ready in advance so the form takes one sitting: the Class 10 certificate, an identity document, a recent passport-size photograph and signature in digital form, and a category certificate where it applies. Check every item against the bulletin before uploading.
What is not decided yet
The registration dates, the fee, the Session 2 dates and any pattern details all come from the information bulletin. Until it appears on the official JEE Main website, treat anything else you read — including forwarded messages — as a guess.
