An hour a day on the road is hundreds of hours over two years. How families from Ozar, Pimpalgaon, Nashik Road and beyond plan around it — and when they should not.
Many of our JEE, NEET and MHT-CET students do not live near our Panchavati centre. They come from Ozar, Pimpalgaon, Nashik Road and other parts of the city. Travel is rarely what families ask about first, and it is often what decides how the two years go.
Do the arithmetic first
An hour a day of round-trip travel, six days a week, is about 300 hours a year — around 600 hours across a two-year programme. That is not a reason to avoid travelling. It is a reason to plan it, rather than discover the cost in the third month.
Choose the batch slot around the commute
The same programme at a different time of day can be a very different experience for a student who travels. Bring your school or college timetable to counselling and tell us where you are coming from. Where batch capacity allows, we cluster a commuting student's subjects so that each trip covers a full block of teaching rather than a single lecture, and plan test days with the travel in mind.
Use the travel time — carefully
Passengers on a bus can do useful low-effort work: going over a Biology diagram from memory, reciting formulae, revisiting the day's error log. Problem-solving does not work on the move, so do not plan for it. And nobody should be studying while riding a two-wheeler.
Guard sleep above everything
A student who leaves early and returns late is the first to cut sleep, and the first to see scores plateau for it. If the commute means less than seven hours a night, the arrangement needs changing — a different slot, fewer trips, or a rethink.
When the commute is not worth it
For Class 8–10 students, whose day is already full with school, a long daily trip is harder to justify. The same goes for any student already struggling with fatigue. In those cases, a closer option may genuinely serve your child better, and we would rather tell you that at counselling than lose a good student to exhaustion in the second term.
